I’ve already visited Cache, Utah, Washington and Salty Lake counties, and I look forward to seeing more of you as I continue to travel throughout the state.
Last I checked, there were 29 counties in Utah, and none of them are called "Salty Lake." Maybe it's a 30th county.
I know, it's just a typo, and I make them too. But, I'm not a sitting U.S. Senator of 30 years, either.
Moving right along...
For far too long, the American Left has viewed the judiciary as a place where unelected judges can practice liberal activism without having to answer to the voters.
And the American "Right" (including you, Orrin) has viewed the judiciary as a place where unelected judges can practice conservative activism without having to answer to the voters. They also see the executive and legislative branches the same way.
The Democrats and the media would have you believe that this war is going poorly, when, in fact, just the opposite is true. Iraq has progressed toward democracy quicker in a shorter period of time than Germany and Japan did after World War II.
OK, I know that they wern't democracies yet, but the U.S. official invlovement in WWII was shorter than the War on Terror/Iraq.
Dec 7, 1941 (Pearl Harbor) - August 15, 1945 (VJDay): 1348 Days
September 11, 2001 - February 27, 2006: 1631 Days
Also, the "democracy" Iraq has now comes with fewer freedoms than the Iraqis had with a dictatorship.
Go figure.
And that doesn't even account for the fact that under Saddam, you knew whether you had a good chance of getting killed on a particular day, and who was going to do it. Now, you just don't know.
