Jim Matheson is *NOT* fiscally Conservative

OK, it's time for me to once again anger someone out there, who will again send me hate mail telling me where to go and how to get there.

The post comes from some articles in Sunday's Tribune, especially this one about the "new breed" of Utah Democrats.

It talks about Jim Matheson being "fiscally conservative" as a member of the Blue Dog Democrats. In the very same paragraph, it says "he voted for President Bush's budget, tax cuts and Medicare drug benefit..."

There is nothing fiscally conservative in any of the measures.

There is nothing fiscally conservative about the growing budget.

There is nothing fiscally conservative about the buy-now-pay later nature of the Bush Budget.

There is nothing fiscally conservative about giving our children more and more debt upon birth.

There is nothing fiscally conservative about giving tax cuts to those making loads of money, while cutting programs for those who aren't. Especially when the government doesn't have the money to begin with.

There is nothing fiscally conservative about a drug plan that disallows the government from seeking the lowest prices for drugs.

There is nothing fiscally conservative about Jim Matheson.

Well, since Matheson is not fiscally conservative, he lines up well with our GOP folks in Congress, who are proving to be as fiscally conservative as a shipload of drunken sailors. Maybe you can't say that Matheson is a conservative-leaning Democrat, but you can probably say that he is a GOP-leaning Democrat.
