Happy Halloween

'Twas the night before All Saints Day, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even the mouse;

The pumpkins were carved by the Bob with might,
In hopes that the ladies will by impressed tonight.
The children were ready to get sugar highs
Not realizing what the future would hold for their thighs;
And Shaun in his wheelchair, and I with my patch,
Looking for ways to vote out Orrin Hatch,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen leaves
Lent eerieness to everything (And just what rhymes with leaves),
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a blue motorhome, powered by clen burning biodeisel.
With a tall skinny driver, so lively and neat,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Pete.
More rapid than eagles his coursers he came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Ethan! now, Shaun! now, Jeff Bell and Bob!
On, Brett! on Justin! on, Steve and Rob!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the porch-top the coursers they flew,
With the pamphlets for Pete, and other Dems too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard at the door
The knocking and pawing, it can't be Al Gore.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the door they came with a bound.
He was dressed in a suit, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all worn, because he couldn't raise loot.
He was here for a moment, Quick as a wink
He had many more doors, And voting was in a week.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of town,
"Happy Halloween to all, and remember to vote Ashdown!"

OK, so that really kinda sucked. About as much as me talking like a pirate, which is my costume tonight.

Since my dad forgot to send me the picture of me in costume, I had to steal a picture of Shaun's Pumpkin Pi.
