SOTU

[Full text (issued before the speech) can be found at Drudge]

Some live thoughts about the State of the Union Speech:

7:10: Wouldn't it be funny if, after the initial applauding stopped, Bush said "Thank you and goodnight" and left?

7:11: Whoever had "Nancy Pelosi gets a standing ovation from Dick Cheney" in the office pool, congratulations for picking the least likely thing to happen, but have be true.

7:14: It's a DEMOCRATIC majority, not a Democrat majority.

7:17: Bush talking about fiscal resposibility is like me selling diet pills....

7:18: If congress didn't put earmarks in the laws, and the President didn't sign them into law, how did they get there? Martians?

7:21: On what planet is NCLB working?

7:22: Tax cuts are the solution to health insurance?!? I'm going to have to read that in the transcripts...

7:26: Bush knows all about violating the laws of the country.....

7:28: I feel as though I'm hearing a repeat of prior SOTU speeches. He says the same thing every year about clean fuel. Let's see some more action.

7:32: Judicial nominees deserve a fair prompt hearing. Well then, let the judge's hearings be FAIR!

7:34: If the best defence is a good offence, why are we playing tiddlywinks?

7:44: "We did not drive al Qaeda out of their safe haven in Afghanistan only to let them set up a new safe haven in a free Iraq. " Because they still are in Afghanistan....

7:48" "whatever you voted for, you did not vote for failure."

7:53" " To whom much is given, much is required." Like Spiderman.

7:57: It's nice to see us end with some true American heros.

8:01: "See ya next year!" Threat, or a promise?
