The town of Eagle Mountain has had alot of trouble keeping mayors around. Mostly, it's because theri mayors have been, well, on the take. Like really on the take.
Turns out you don't have to really be mayor of Eagle Mountain, you just have to play one on TV.
City Councilman David Blackburn was appointed by a 4-1 vote to act as Eagle Mountain's temporary mayor at meetings that the real mayor, Don Richardson, is absent. This vote was taken last night.
This, despite the fact that city officials are investigating whether Councilman Blackburn improperly accepted a gift from a vendor in the city without publicly disclosing his actions.
