AG to be Hatch canceled his vacation, missed General Conference

So, Last night on KSL's Nightside, they reported that Orrin Hatch has opted to stay in Washington DC for the Easter Break.

It's to possibly prepare for confirmation hearings should AG Gonzales be asked to resign.

Basically, I support Hatch for Attorney General for the following reasons:

1. He can't do worse than the past couple of people who have had the job. They set the bar pretty low.

2. Instead of waiting until January 1, 2013 or 2019 to be rid of Hatch, he'll be retiring at 11:59 AM Eastern Standard Time on January 20, 2009. 32 years of Hatch is better than 36-42.

3. We'll probably get a better Senator out of the deal. While Governor Huntsman has some choices that would be worse than Hatch, he likely won't make them. He may even choose himself. The downside to Senator Huntsman: Governor Herbert.

4. One quiet Utah Mormon in Bush's cabinet will be offset by a crazy Utah Mormon. It'll take some of the focus off of Utah's Pretend Own Mitt Romney.
