Granite School District Must be flush with money

There is something going on in Granite School District.

They seem to be willing to spend money on anything, as long as it's not spent on students.

As an example, drive down I80 and take a look at the small, humble, district offices.

But, the spending continues. I just got a nice, glossy, full color booklet in the mail from the district pimping how "good" they are doing in Granite District.

And, to top it off, they gave up $52 Million over 20 years on a building project in Holladay on the Cottonwood Mall site. That's over $2.5 million a year. They say it's an investment, but is it a wise investment?

Remember, ZCMI mall was built in 1975. It lasted only 30 years or so.

Do we want today's Kindergarteners to sacrifice for money that their children, who will be Kindergarteners when the bond is paid off, will only see benefit through 10th Grade?

Something needs to change in Granite School District.
