The people laughing at his remark are most likely the same people who will gain the least under his plan. Somehow the Republicans are very good at getting people of small means to vote against their own best interest. But we all know it's now "somehow", it's the "moral" issues like abortion and gay marriage the R's use to manipulate this particular segment of the population. Very effective, too.
