The Real Jesus was a Jew

Jeff Bell, talking about his family celebrating Hanukkah:

There is a reason I do this for my kids, and, I’m pretty sure that it’ll piss off asshats like Sen. Buttars, but, who cares?

I do it to teach my kids more about the REAL Jesus. Not the divine gas-bag that people like Gayle Ruzika, Chris Buttars and the other False Christians worship. I’m talking about the gentle carpenter that taught love, acceptance, forgiveness and charity. The man who taught mercy.

Not the Darth Vader-like guy that most organized religions have dressed up in a cheap Jesus costume to frighten the kids into behaving like little cloned intolerant dickheads, like themselves.

Jesus was a Jew, no matter how much that fact drives the Pat Robertson’s of the word nutty. He grew up with those traditions, those teachings and those experiences. It seems, if you think about it, that a Jewish upbringing made Jesus into quite a guy.

And, I might add, Hanukkah is the only December Holiday mentioned in the Bible:

John 10:22-23 -- "And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch."

And Jesus was also a Christian. Why can't we just enjoy what we have in common instead of trying to claim who is right.

Um.... That was kinda the point.

For the record, Bell isn't Jewish.
