Big Day

There seems to be a lot happening today, so it should be a good day for blogging. That is, of course, assuming that blogger stays with me.

The first thing I wanted to get at was a story in the Tribune yesterday. It talkedabout the primary for Senate Disrict 9, and mostly about the friendship between one of the candidates, Bryson Garbett, and Speaker of the House Greg Curtis.

However, something huge was left out of the discussion. Curtis nixed the building of a new state office building to benefit Garbett financially. Garbett repaid the favor by giving a $5,000 donation to Curtis' campaign right after the legislative session ended. Regular readers of this blog know that, but for those of you who missed it, here is a link.

The claim is that Garbett won't be Curtis' lapdog in the Senate. However, given the history of these two, I wouldn't buy it.

Senate district 9 should be an interesting race. The primary seems to be pretty competitive, and all for the rights to face popular Democrat Trisha Beck.
