Hatch's selective action

I can't remember if I posted this or not, but a nice family who had been living in the US for many years, and had spent the last several in Green River, Utah, was facing deportation.

Because they followed the rules.

They asked Orrin Hatch's office for help, but got the reply that Orrin only gets involved when it's a life and death situation.

Like when one of his constituents, er ... friends, er ... music-producing-clients-of-your-lawer-who-made-you-$40,000 gets thrown in prison for cocaine possession.

Because possessing coke is a Utah value.

The family owned two hotels in Green River. By all accounts, they sounded like nice people. They got deported on Friday.
