So, Dr Joe Jarvis wants to use "Joe Jarvis" on the ballot. Well, he should have put "Joe Jarvis" on his application when he was filing to run for office.
Besides, People are smart enough to figure out that Joseph and Joe are the same person. If they can't figure it out, they'll have a tough time running the voting machines.
The Republicans have been assigning blame to one of their boogymen (boogywomen, boogypersons?), Sherrie Swensen. Because when all else fails, blame one of the following people:
Sherrie Swensen
Hillary Clinton
Bill Clinton Lewinsky
Howard Dean
MoveOn
Nancy Pelosi
Michael Moore
Rocky Anderson
Of course, I've got a unique name...
Granted, if I plug in the Origional spelling of my last name (believe it or not, it has an additional "A"), there's nine of me.
I know of at least 3 other Robert Aagards that have roamed the Earth:
*Robert K Aagard -- My grandfather
*Dr. Robert Aagard -- he used to practice medicine in Salt Lake. I'm not sure if he still does.
*Robert K "Rob" Aagaard -- He went to Jr High and High School with me, and was two years behind me.
So, go figure. More proof that I'm unique.

It was a partisan move, cut and dry. She purposely ignored the certified list from the Lt Governors office and claimed that she was using a list of names from the official party instead.
Well, this is news to me. I worked in that office for 20 years and we always used the Lt. Governor's list.
Seems to me like this one was specifically a partisan shot, and Joe Jarvis took one in the knee.
And by the way Bob. Are you THAT forgiving of Sherrie? Do you really think that the way she runs that office represents your morals and values? If you recall that office has seen sexual harassment litigation, retaliation against employees, investigations of cronyistm/neptosim, and improper hiring practices.
Of course, this was all 1-2 years ago, so I guess its old news.

The way I see it, either Sherrie knows what is going on in her office (which is disgusting), or showed poor judgement (which is more likely). Either way she should be fired. How often in life is a 5 term incumbent a good investment? We talk all the time about throwing Hatch out for being there too long. But I guess its OK to have Sherrie Swensen in office for 20 years because she's a Democrat. Personally, I disagree.
Hell, that little sexual harassment settlement cost us $96,000. Who do you think is paying that tab? You and me, thats who. Did you also know that the County Council had to pass a mill levy just to cover the cost? Thats right, they passed specific tax legislation because she can't manage her office.
