Church Statistics

I'm always interested in the statistics read at General Conference. The new statistics:

2,790 stakes
348 missions
27,827 wards and branches
13,193,999 members
93,698 children of record baptized
279,218 converts baptized
52,686 missionaries
124 temples

Crunching those numbers, we see that it is a net gain of 325,393 people, or a growth rate of 2.5%.

It doesn't take into account the number of people who have figured out that Mormonism is at best a well intentioned folly and have stopped going to church and contributing to the C.O.P. I'm among those folks. I'm not alone by any stretch of the imagination. The LDS Church is losing it's best and brightest and is more and more relying upon yes men, in my opinion.

But I could be wrong.
