Last week, I was talking to a friend of mine who is running on the Libertarian Party ticket for the state legislature. He was describing some of the ins and outs of the nominating process.
Apparently, unlike the major parties, the Libertarians have the ability to vote against you in the convention, even when you run unopposed.
If you lose, you are no longer a candidate.
While my friend doesn't have much to worry about, a high-profile candidate does.
I have talked to several people involved with the Libertarian Party who say that they are unhappy that SuperDell is running as a member of their party. They say that they have enough trouble being painted as a bunch of crazy people without having an actual crazy person run with them.
The City Weekly goes through what the process will be for SuperDell.
