Portable Tape Players Exist Outside of Cars

Salt Lake Crawler's Glen Warchol is trying out FrontRunner today, and encountered a resident at U Med Center who lives in Huntsville.

She was talking about pros and cons of using Frontrunner vs her car:

The FrontRunner's work tables and WiFi will allow Wachter to study and work online. But, in her Subaru, "I can listen to study tapes. And I like to drive, it gives me time to relax."

Um, I may be wrong, but I remember Sony inventing something called a Walkman back in the 80's that would allow you to listen to tapes just about anywhere you wanted. That was followed up by the Discman, which offered the same ability with CDs.

Not to mention iPods.
