John McCain booed at NASCAR
John and Cindy McCain are at the NASCAR race today. Just before the drivers were told to start their engines, The McCain's were introduced.
They were met by a good number of boos and cheers. But definitely not the reaction you would typically expect for a Republican at a NASCAR event.

Cindy McCain's Lie: Only Child
From NPR:
Except, it's not exactly true. Jim Hensley had more than one child.....
Last Tuesday, NPR broadcast a story about Cindy McCain's business and charity work. In it, Ted Robbins described McCain as the only child of Jim Hensley, a wealthy Arizona businessman.
[...]
She's been described that way by news organizations from The New Yorker and The New York Times to Newsweek and ABC.
McCain herself routinely uses the phrase "only child," as she did on CNN last month. "I grew up with my dad," she said then. "I'm an only child. My father was a cowboy, and he really loved me very much, but I think he wanted a son occasionally."
Except, it's not exactly true. Jim Hensley had more than one child.....
Documents show Kathleen Anne Hensley was born to Jim and Mary Jeanne Hensley on Feb. 23, 1943. They had been married for six years when Kathleen was born.
Jim Hensley was a bombardier on a B-17, flying over Europe during World War II.
He was injured and sent to a facility in West Virginia to recuperate. During that time, while still married to Mary Jeanne, Hensley met another woman — Marguerite Smith. Jim divorced Mary Jeanne and married Marguerite in 1945.
Cindy Lou Hensley was born nine years later, in 1954.
She may have grown up as an only child, but so did her half sister, Kathleen, who was raised by a single parent.
Portalski says she did see her father and her half sister from time to time.
"I saw him a few times a year," she says. "I saw him at Christmas and birthdays, and he provided money for school clothes, and he called occasionally."

Who's elitist? Cindy McCain and the $300,000 outfit
Elitist. Sure, her husband fancies $520 shoes. But why stop there?
That outfit is worth 1,000 times a John Edwards haircut.
Granted, most of the cost is in her earrings. The dress is only $3000, about 10 times the cost of a John Edwards haircut.
Cindy McCain -- Republican elitist of the week.

John McCain wants Cindy to dance topless in a bar!
Family Values can kiss my white fat butt!
From Daily Kos:
From Daily Kos:
Consider this yearly event at the Sturgis motorcycle rally:
Buffalo Chip has a reputation for that sort of thing. It holds a Miss Buffalo Chip contest every night, which is essentially a topless beauty pageant. And occasionally bottomless, too. During a drenching rain Wednesday night, the contest broke up into smaller groups and one woman wound up dancing naked on a bar top. Her boyfriend/husband saw her and angrily dragged her away as she struggled to put her pants back on and muttered something about how, "It's only this one week a year."
At this point you're probably asking yourself, what does this have to do with politics? Here's John McCain, speaking yesterday at the Sturgis motorcycle rally:
I was looking at the Sturgis schedule and noticed that you have a beauty pageant and so I encouraged Cindy to compete. I told her, with a little luck, she could be the only woman ever to serve as both the First Lady and Miss Buffalo Chip.
It seems that John McCain really is willing to say or do anything to win.

McCain's not-so-excellent timing in St Louis
From Fired Up! Missouri:
That would be like the LDS Church announcing it was moving HQ to Massachusetts and McCain doing another Mitt Romney fund raiser here the next day.
-Bob
John McCain certainly knows how to rub salt in the wounds of Missourians suffering the slings and arrows of a GOP-ruined economy.
Just a day after Missourians learned that Anheuser-Busch would be sold to Belgian firm InBev, McCain promptly comes to St. Louis --the home of Anheuser-Busch-- for a mega-dollar reception at the vast estate of the former United States ambassador to, of all countries, Belgium.
Notwithstanding the fact that John and Sindy McCain will reap millions of dollars from the Anheuser-Busch sale, their advisors would be wise to warn them not to celebrate too loudly about the deal as they rub elbows with the former diplomat in the STL.
That would be like the LDS Church announcing it was moving HQ to Massachusetts and McCain doing another Mitt Romney fund raiser here the next day.

I'm prouderest of my country!
OK, so there was this big flap a few days ago. Michelle Obama said that for the first time in her life, she was proud of her country. Cindy McCain then responded that she, too, is proud of her country.
If fact, this is what she said:
“I just wanted to make the statement that I have and always will be proud of my country.”
So, Mrs. McCain, what is it about this country that has made you proud?
Is it the war you husband was fighting when he was shot down and became a POW your freshman year of high school?
Is it the selling of WMDs to Saddam Hussein in the 80's? Maybe the arming and support of Osama bin Laden during the same time?
Maybe it was the lurid affair of Bill Clinton during the 90's that made you so proud. I know I was proud of America when I heard about oral sex every night on the news.
Maybe you were proud of your country when Karl Rove and George W Bush drug your husband's name, as well as you adopted son, through the mud in South Carolina in 2000?
And, we've barely gotten to this decade.
