Megan Risbon, and being mean

Today, I recieved a comment about last week's post regarding my not being liked by Salt Lake COunty Democratic Party Chairwoman Megan Risbon. The comment, which has early consideration for comment of the month, is as follows:

Bob,
Regarding Megan, as Chair of the Salt Lake County Democratic Party,
I don't think "like you" or "not like you" is the issue. I think it is a matter of respecting someone who is doing the best she can with the people who step up to the plate to help. I am a volunteer as well as having other roles with the Salt Lake County Dems. I see the energy Megan puts in to this full time job, for which she is not paid. I have been with her when she has stayed up past midnight or not slept at all in order to get things ready for convention and other events. I have seen her patiently (and not so patiently) talk to candidates, reporters, and the public. There are some dedicated volunteers who help the County Party, and assist Megan with her duties, however, there are also a lot of jobs that still need to be done. I am reminded that if one doesn't like the way something is, then it is your obligation to do something about it. Talk is cheap. Being mean spirited and threatening does not help the Party. Get down to County Headquarters and answer the phones, help out with mailings, join a committee. I respect Megan, and every other Party officer who is serving the party; dedicating time and energy in a non paying job, and making themselves a target for all the blogs in town. You are free to criticize, and that is your right. I will be watching for you down at headquarters when you come to demonstrate your committment to making the Democratic Party stronger.

Thank you for ripping me a new one.

I did not mean my critical comments as a sign of disrespect for Megan. She is a fine person, and one who undoubtedly works hard. In fact, I applaud all of the hard word the volunteers at the offices do.

However, I feel like there could be more happening. The party website is painfully bad. Also, some communication from the party would be nice.

As soon as I find some time, I will be down at HQ helping out. However, Between 2 jobs, 3 blogs, and volunteer research for the Pete Ashdown campaign, I find little spare time.

-Bob

P.S. -- if you, Megan, or anyone else wants to see my mean side for proof that I have not been mean, I will show you. Trust me, you don't want to see it.

Come On folks, Megan is great as is Bob. There is a bigger picture here.

Except for a few rare situations I have found that I can get along with anyone by simply finding something that we have in common.

Election season is here, lets get to work, and remember that we are in this together.

Dont be mean, Bob, and please don't threaten it..I like the "nice you", you have so much to offer. And, Rob, as usual, the peacemaker, I appreciate your ability to see the Big Picture.

Wow Bob,

Admit your mistakes, apologize and move on.

Your acting a bit immature by posting this kind of stuff.
