Sara Palin on Hilary Clinton

“She does herself a disservice to even mention it, really. When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism, or maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, ‘Man, that doesn’t do us any good, women in politics, or women in general, trying to progress this country.’ I don’t think it bodes well for her.”

Oh, hypocracy, how I love thee...

Hillary Clinton uses Sutherland Institute Math

Sometimes the lies need to be addressed. Like the one tonight.

She is claiming that more people have voted for her than Barack Obama if you include Florida (where nobody campaigned) and Michigan (where Obama got zero votes because he took his name off the ballot like every other major candidate willing to live within the rules).

It's a count-every-vote-in-every-state strategy.

Except she's eliminating the states of Iowa, Nevada, Alaska, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Washington and Wyoming.

Why?

Because they are caucus states.

So, Mrs Clinton, if you truly want to count everyone in every state, stop lying to us.

P.S. -- for info on what I meant by "Sutherland Institute Math," read this post, unless you have no tolarance for me being a smart ass, then read this one....

Hillary's Come From Behind Fraud

Hillary Clinton claims that her 2-point win yesterday in the Indiana primary was a come-from-behind victory.

Liar Liar pants on fire.

First off, the final was 50.7%-49.3%, or a 1.4 point victory. But, that's a numbers game, and the least of the worries.

You see, saying that it was a come-from-behind victory would imply that Obama had been ahead for a while.

Luckily, I found this graph that can help:

(Graph Courtesy RealClearPolitics. Click to enlarge)

The lines on this graph represent the average of polls taken from the five mojor polling firms that were doing polls in Indiana. Purple Represents Clinton, Green represents Obama.

As you can see, on the first day of the graph, April 3, Clinton led 51.3-44.3, a 7-point lead.

Over the course of the next several weeks, Obama closed the lead, Virtually tying it on the 24th, and taking a 46.3-43.3 lead on the 25th. That lead held (because no polls were taken) until it tied on the 28th, with Hillary taking a lead on the 29th.

She took a 6-point lead into the weekend, which narrowed to a 5-point Clinton lead yesterday morning. Remember, she won by 1.4.

To use a sport analogy, let's say that the Utah Jazz start tonight's game well, and lead the Lakers by 7 early. They hold that lead for most of the game, except for a few minutes in the third quarter when the Lakers get their only lead of the game. The Jazz lead by five going into the final minute. Being the Jazz, they choke a litle down that final stretch, but hang on to win by 2 points. Jerry Sloan stands up to the mike and declares that it was a great come-from-behind victory, and is imediately laughed out of the league.

Daily Show: Panderer's Box

The Gas Tax Scam

I stole this from Facebook:

CONFIDENTIAL/URGENT POLITICAL PROPOSAL

Dear Sir

First we must solicit your confidence in this issue. This is by virtue as being utterly confidential and "top secret".

We are SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON, the wife of the former United States head of state, PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON, and also SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN, friend and associate of current head of state PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH. We got your contact through business inquiries as we were searching for contacts of a citizen who can help save our and our family's political careers since our country has been frustrating us.

We are top officials of the United States Senate Government who are interested in importation of oil into our country with funds that are presently trapped in the FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION TRUST FUND dedicated to improving transportation. We wish to send this money to overseas accounts in the MIDDLE EAST but cannot due to restrictions in Congress Transportation Equity Act requiring that this money must be spent to build roads, bridges and high speed trains.

If you accept we will deliver to your a sum of 30 DOLLARS in the summer 2008 in form of a "GAS TAX HOLIDAY". You will then deliver this money to accounts of our friends in Middle East by taking it to your nearby gasoline station where they have information to forward the money. Please supply your bank account, social security number, address and your vote in DEMOCRATIC PRIMARIES AND NOVEMBER GENERAL ELECTION.

But bear in mind that this transaction requires absolute confidentiality. Do not visit WWW.GASTAXSCAM.COM where there is information about dangers of our proposal and a petition to stop us from this diversion of funds.

PLEASE NOTIFY US URGENTLY OF YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THIS PROPOSAL

Awaiting your rapid response

Yours truly

SENATORS HILLARY CLINTON AND JOHN MCCAIN

Hillary and Bosnia

Hillary Clinton now claims that when she said the comments about her trip to Bosnia last week, she misspoke. And the other 4 or 5 times she has told the same story since December. She's blaming it all on sleep deprivation.

Is this really someone who we want answering the phone at 3:00 AM? I can see the conversation:

Madam President! The Canadians just rolled tanks into Detroit! What should we do?
Nuke it!
Nuke what? Toronto?
No! Detroit! That will teach them.
(later)
Sorry, I missoke. What I meant to do was ask if they had nukes.....

And, if Bosnia was really so dangerous that they sent her instead of Bill, why did she bring Chelsea? That shows poor judgment on her part.....

"Senator Clinton, this is not a campain strategy, this is a suicide pact"

Over the past week, people have asked me what I thought about Geraldine Ferraro.

Keith Olbermann summed it up for me:

Hillary Wants Me to vote for John McCain

One of Hillary's big campaign themes (actually, really the only theme she has right now) is experience.

Hillary claims that her 35 years of experience is better than Obama's experience. That's largely debatable, but not the subject of this post.

You see, whoever wins this marathon for the nomination will go up against John McCain. I think he wins in the experience department:

*Graduated US Naval Academy in 1958
*Became Navy Pilot in 1960
*Nearly KIA in 1967
*Becomes Prisoner of War in 1967
*Refuses to be released early; Torture begins
*Released from POW Camps in 1973
*Liason between the Navy and Senate starting in 1977
*Elected U.S. House in 1982
*Elected U.S. Senate in 1986

So, Mrs Clinton, if we're going on experience, all the Republicans will have to do is trot out your experience quotes, and follow them with McCain's resume.

Hillary Clinton Didn't Win Tuesday

OK, I admit that I have some bias in this, but the facts play themselves out:

  • Going into March 4, Hillary Clinton needed 57% of all delegates to win.
  • The only state she hit the 57% threshold was Rhode Island (60%)
  • Obama ended up getting more delegates in the state of Texas.
  • In fact, Hillary's final gain from Tuesday was 6 delegates.  That's half of what Obama gained in Idaho alone.
  • In the Texas two-step, Obama got 5 more delegates than Hillary.

And, winning 3 out of five contests doesn't give you momentum after your opponent has won 11 straight.  It just stop te negative mo.
